Features of fabric fabrics
The requirements for fabrics for sewing a protective suit, work overalls or uniforms are quite high:
- safety and comfort
- strength, resistance to mechanical damage,
- resistance to general industrial pollution (dirt, soot, metal chips, lubricants, powders, etc.)
- hypoallergenic
- resistance to weather factors (UV radiation, wind, rain)
- presentable appearance
- dimensional stability, durability and ease of maintenance
Depending on the application, additional specific requirements may be imposed on fabrics: resistance to frequent disinfections, water or dust resistance, antistatic effect , fire resistance, protection against aggressive chemicals (acids, alkalis).
Types of fabrics for overalls
Synthetic, natural and blended fabrics are used for sewing uniforms and working overalls.
Synthetic fabric (polyester, elastane, synthetic polyamide fibers) is suitable for sewing lightweight clothing designed to protect against moisture and wind, for reinforcing and protective parts of workwear.
Natural fabrics based on cotton fiber are used for products that are in direct contact with the body: the service industry (uniforms for waiters, cooks, massage therapists), medical kits, gowns for workshops and laboratories. Thick tarpaulin with fire-resistant impregnation is used in production of suits for welders and metallurgists.
Blended fabric for workwear is a mix of materials that combine the best qualities of natural and synthetic components: wear resistance, antistatic, breathability, hygroscopicity, tensile strength, resistance to shrinkage and repeated washing.
Mixed fabrics for workwear are used in the production of:
- uniforms (military, Ministry of Emergency Situations, police, road services)
- protective suits for steelworkers, welders
- uniforms for oil and gas industry workers
- sports and tourist equipment
- equipment and clothing for fishing and hunting
Overalls fabrics from STG
